India became the first country that landed Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the lunar surface. This successful mission wrote the history of landing smoothly on the moon. At this joyful moment, PM Modi congratulated all Indian scientists for this great achievement and they said that” India always remember this day”

The scientist says that the “ real test” was started in the last 20 minutes of the landing. ISRO inaugurated Automatic Landing Sequence (ALS) and it granted Vikram LM to take position and used its onboard computers and also found a favorable area to take a smooth landing on the lunar surface.

After the 20 minutes of Chandrayaan-3 landing, all the Indians, scientists, and across the world prayed to Chandrayaan-3 successfully landing on the Moon. The scientist says that the last 20 minutes are so stressful to the success of the mission when Chandrayaan-3 Vikram Iander collapses down to its soft landing. All the scientists were curious because Chandrayaan-2 failed at the last 20 minutes before landing and ISRO was also curious at this last time. Before landing on the moon, high risk at the last spacecraft minutes, and the duration is dubbed by several as “220 or 17 Minutes of Scamp”. At the last moment, the whole process becomes autonomous, and Vikram Iander explodes his engine at the right time and altitude.

What is Pragyan Lander?

The Pragyan word is taken from Sanskrit and it means wisdom. Pragyan is designed to bring out a pattern of experimentation on the surface of the Moon and it has a six-wheeled rover. According to NASA, the Pragyan rover’s size was 91.7×75.0 x 39.7 and it has a rectangular chassis, accelerated on a six-wheel rocker-bogie wheel drive convection. In Pragyan Iander, a solar panel generates a minimum of 50 W and a navigation camera and directly makes contact with the lander via Rx/Tx antennas.

US Vice President Kamala Harris congratulated India

On the success of Chandrayaan-3, the US Vice President Kamala Harris congratulated India and all ISRO scientists. She tweeted, “ Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the polar region of the Moon, Congratulations India for making history and it’s an incredible feat for all the scientists and engineers who were involved in it and we are proud to partner with you on this mission, and explore space more broadly”.

What next after Pragyan Rover Landing?

The Chairman of ISRO, S Somnath had recently informed that,” There will be deployment of ramp and rover coming out, after powered descent on the landing site. After this, all the experiments will take place one after the other- all of which have to be completed in just one day on the moon, on earth which is 14 days.”

Pragyan Rover rolls out from the Vikram Lander

On Tuesday, ISRO confirmed the landing of the Pragyan rover from Vikram Iander. In a tweet, ISRO wrote,” Chandrayaan-3 Mission: Chandrayaan-3 Rover: Made in India In Made for the Moon! The Chandrayaan-3 Rover ramped down on the Lander and India took a Walk on the Moon! More updates Soon.

On the success of the Pragyan-rover, President Droupadi Murmu congratulated ISRO. She wrote on X, “I once again congratulate the ISRO team and all fellow citizens for successful deployment of Pragya-rover from inside Vikram-Iander. It’s Rolling out a few hours after the landing of Vikram marked the success of yet another stage of Chandrayaan-3. I look forward with excitement, alongside my fellow citizens and scientists, to the information and analysis that Pragyan will acquire and enrich our understanding of the moon.
