The social media giant changed its political ad policy in India. As a part of the updated policy, Facebook would provide more detailed information about who is placing a political ad on Facebook in India. The political ads would also include a “Published by” or “Paid for by” disclaimer provided by advertisers at the top of the ad.
Additionally, the company also introduced an online searchable Ad Library that would provide detailed information, such as the budget associated with an individual ad, a range of impressions, and the demographics of who saw the ad, to the Facebook users.
